Notice to Visitors – AMC visits arrangements - 08/2022

Please note that while people who test positive to COVID-19 are no longer required to isolate, there are different arrangements in place for the Alexander Maconochie Centre (AMC).

The public health advice is that the transmission of COVID-19 remains a risk at the AMC, as those in a correctional facility are considered a vulnerable population group.

As such, based on public health advice and to protect the health and safety of detainees, people who are COVID positive will not be permitted to visit the AMC for 7 days following a positive test result. All visitors will still be asked to undergo a RAT prior to entry to the AMC and wear a mask while at the AMC.

ACT Corrective Services will continue to review these arrangements to protect the health and safety of detainees as far as possible.

Thank you for your commitment and support in keeping your loved ones safe.
